Established in 1952, Beijing Valve General Factory，with abbreviation BVMC, was a large state-owned enterprise in manufacturing high and medium pressure valves and steam traps designated by the former Ministry of Machinery Industry, and had made great contributions to the "Two Bombs and One Satellite" Project. After more than 70 years of accumulation and growth, BVMC has become one of the Top 500 Chinese machinery enterprises, and acts as a Vice chairman unit of the Valve Branch of China General Machinery Industry Association, a member unit of the National Valve Standardization Technical Committee, and a member unit of the Valve Committee of the State Administration of Market Supervision. BVMC owns a National Enterprise Technology Center, has been recognized as a National High-tech Enterprise and a Specialized, Refined, Distinctive and Innovative Enterprise, and is the first in the industry to obtain a series of Chinese and international certifications.

In 2004, Beijing Valve General Factory carried out an Property Rights reform to promote the development by investing over RMB 100 million, renaming it Beijing Valve General Factory Co., Ltd., and relocating to Panggezhuang Industrial Development Zone, Daxing District from the urban. In 2008, in order to comprehensively improve its development pattern, BVMC was renamed Beijing Valve General Factory Group, marking its gradual transformation toward becoming a leading  high tech, intelligent, and conglomerate-integrated enterprise in valve industry.

In 2015,  to adapt to the development trend of the new era, BVMC was restructured into Beijing Valve General Factory Co., Ltd.

In 2016, the Company actively responded to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Integration strategy and invested about 170 million USD in building a Production Base in Handan City, Hebei Province. The Handan Production Base covers a construction area of 195,000 square meters, and has over 1,300 current workers.

In the Handan Production Base, BVMC now has five core workshops, namely the Ball Valve Intelligent Manufacturing Workshop, the Butterfly Valve Intelligent Manufacturing Workshop, the General Valve Intelligent Manufacturing Workshop, the Forged Steel Valve Intelligent Manufacturing Workshop, and the Paint Spraying & Logistics Workshop. With an annual production capacity of 80,000 tons, the production and manufacturing capabilities hold a far-leading position in the industry.

Zhonghong Foundary, a wholly-owned subsidiary, established in  Handan Production Base, is the first Chinese enterprise that owns five most advanced automatic production lines for castings and forgings, namely the semi-automatic large-scale resin sand casting line, the semi-automatic precision silica sol composite casting line, the automatic precision medium-temperature wax silica sol casting line by  process, the automatic precision low-temperature wax composite casting line, and the semi-automatic small and medium-sized forging line. Currently, the annual casting and forging capacity is 100,000 tons.

At present, BVMC has become a modern, intelligent, informationized, automated and service-oriented enterprise that integrates R&D, casting, machining and sales, and has formed a development pattern that takes Beijing as the headquarters and Handan as the production base.

Beijing Valve Research Institute under BVMC, with more than 40 years of R&D experience, was a Tier-2 research and development institution affiliated with the former Ministry of Machinery Industry, has led and participated in the formulation of more than 100 national and industry standards, has obtained over 100 product invention patents successively, and has received more than 20 awards and certificates at ministerial and provincial-level or above, representing that the scientific research achievements of the Institute have reached the international leading level or international advanced level.

Beijing Valve General Factory Co.,Ltd has always been adhering to the concept of technology leadership and vigorously promoting a domestic production mode. Over the years, BVMC has successively addressed the “bottleneck” challenge of relying on imported valve products. In 2011, the Company undertook the R&D of the "Domestic Production Project of Ultra-supercritical Thermal Power Units" that was led by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration, successfully passed the appraisal by the experts from the National Energy Administration, and the products developed by the Company in the Project have been marketed and used. In 2023, the nickel-based alloy flat gate valves and top-entry ball valves for high-acid gas fields independently developed and successfully passed the appraisal by the experts from China General Machinery Industry Association. In 2024, the 56inch Class 900 high-pressure large-diameter full welded ball valves for long-distance pipeline networks developed and successfully passed the appraisal by the experts from China Machinery Industry Federation and China General Machinery Industry Association. The products with international advanced performance have been marketed and used. The large-diameter eccentric hemispherical valves, flow and pressure regulating valves and large-diameter butterfly valves developed have been widely marketed and used.

Beijing Valve General Factory Co.,Ltd owns a CNAS-accredited testing and inspection center, which is capable of conducting tests on chemical composition, tensile strength, low-temperature impact, metallographic structure, and intergranular corrosion of materials, thus effectively ensuring the compliance of various material components. In addition, the center is also able to conduct high pressure test, high temperature test, low temperature test, and low leakage test on valve products, so as to provide zero-defect high-performance products for global users. The high-quality valve products have been highly recognized by a vast number of domestic and foreign clients.

At present,  BVMC has developed a diverse product portfolio spanning over a dozen categories, comprising more than 600 series and 3,000+ specialized models to meet various industry needs and widely used in dozens of major industries, including petroleum, petrochemicals, natural gas, chemicals, power generation, water conservancy, water utilities, urban construction, metallurgy, and national defense technology.
